hi
Do you know what the Zen of eating local foods is???
Do you know what’s growing in the garden this week and how you can get it at the local farmer’s market???
Today’s nugget of wisdom takes place at the farmer’s market. Yes I’m taking you for a spin at one of the local farmer’s markets, here in North Florida.
Eating locally grown food is so powerful, it’s actually often overlooked. But we’ll talk more about that another time, now let’s hit the farmer’s market.
Now that you know what you can get this week from the market, what should you do???
- create your shopping list for the week to come. {Hint: jot down the veggies and fruits you’ll get from the market, then add to your shopping list some protein. Often you’ll find fish, seafood, eggs and other animal products at the farmer’s market. For a great local farm (here in North Florida go to www.fullcirclerealfoods.com )}
- next, go get that food & then
- make some wholesome meals.
I hope you feel inspired and ready to hit the local farmer’s market and prepare some wholesome healing foods for ya!!
Here is a one day menu, all done for you.
Breakfast: Eggs frittata with Swiss chard
Lunch: better than mama’s cabbage with butternut squash and meatballs (made using full circle’s forest raised pig sausage). A bit of beauty salad will do you some good too.
Snack: chilled cantaloupe {ah so refreshing-perfect on a hot summer day}
Dinner: Zucchini noodles with QUICK KALE SALAD 5-15 and Chicken roast in the slow cooker
